The H2CAT network is an initiative coordinated by Eurecat<\/strong> in collaboration with the Catalan Institute of Chemical Research<\/strong>, the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research<\/strong>, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia<\/strong> and Rovira i Virgili University<\/strong> in collaboration with other entities and institutions that are committed to sustainability and the potential of green hydrogen.<\/p>

Eurecat is one of Europe\u2019s leading technology centres for accelerating innovation in companies through distinctive technological solutions that generate economic, social, and environmental impact. Awarded the 2026 National Prize for Knowledge Transfer and Innovation, Eurecat is a multidisciplinary technology centre with capabilities in five major fields of knowledge linked to digital technologies, cyber-physical systems, materials and manufacturing processes, life sciences and health technologies, and environmental sciences and technologies. The Catalan Institute for Chemical Research (ICIQ) is a research centre of international excellence. Its headquarters are in Tarragona, on the Sescelades Campus, where some 230 people work. The three main lines of research of the 18 research groups that comprise it are: catalysis, supramolecular chemistry and renewable energies.<\/p>\n

The Institute for Energy Research of Catalonia (IREC) is a publicly funded institution created in 2009, based in Barcelona, which carries out innovative research in a wide range of disciplines within the field of energy science and technology.<\/p>\n

IREC contributes to sustainable development through the development of new technological solutions, the promotion of scientific and technological knowledge related to clean energy and its efficient use, as well as the transfer of solutions and knowledge to market players. UPC is the public university for research and higher education in the fields of architecture, engineering, science and technology.

The Rovira i Virgili University (URV) works to promote all research activities of its members, with special emphasis on strengthening the different groups and the quality and magnitude of scientific production. The IDAEA is the main environmental research centre of the CSIC. Founded in 2008, the IDAEA was awarded the distinction of “Severo Ochoa” Centre of Excellence in 2020, highlighting the high quality scientific leadership and global impact of the work carried out at the institute. The University of Girona (UdG) is a public institution, which is part of the Catalan public university system. It brings together 117 research groups, 42 of which are recognised as Consolidated Research Groups and four of them are part of the TECNIO network. The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is the Spanish national supercomputing facility and a hosting member of the PRACE distributed supercomputing infrastructure. The Center was established in 2005 and houses MareNostrum-V, one of three European pre-Exascale machines. The mission of BSC is to research, develop, and manage information technologies to facilitate scientific progress.<\/p>

The activities related to digitalization and advanced simulation software for hydrogen applications are conducted by the Propulsion Technologies group, which is focused on the development of modeling and simulation tools for hydrogen production, like electrolyzers, or utilization such as fuel cells and combustion-based technologies.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Geo sciences Barcelona (GEO3BCN-CSIC) is a research centre in Earth Sciences with international projection that was created in 1965 as the first autonomous centre of the CSIC for geological research in Barcelona. Our main mission is to advance the study and understanding of the Earth System.

ICFO is a research institute and CERCA centre founded in 2002 with the aim of conducting excellence research in the field of photonic sciences and technologies.
