Sustainability assessment of the hydrogen value chain

Entity:

We evaluate the sustainability of the entire hydrogen value chain from a life-cycle perspective. We rely on standardised ISO methodologies (14040, 14044) and international recommendations (PEF, SETAC guidelines, etc.) for the environmental, social and economic study of technologies. From the conceptualisation of the projects, we support the selection of materials and processes that help to improve the environmental footprint, following the principle of sustainable-by-design or eco-design. In addition, we evaluate circularity through the quantification of specifically defined indicators.

Challenges met

The innovation and development of new technologies involved in the hydrogen value chain require the incorporation of sustainability principles to ensure their competitiveness.
