Creation, application and analysis of tools to promote awareness of green hydrogen, social acceptance of projects and use of derived technologies and products

Entity:

  • Prior social and communicative analysis of the environment in which the project is to be developed through surveys, discussion groups and dynamics of public participation and co-creation of consensual proposals to ensure its durability over time.
  • Design and implementation of tools, social marketing campaigns and communication actions aimed at promoting awareness of green hydrogen and improving the perception, acceptance and use among the population of the technologies and products derived from it.
  • Evaluation of the impact and results obtained with the tools applied.

Challenges met

  • Promoting knowledge of the potential of green hydrogen in the fight against climate change.
  • Promoting awareness of the role of green hydrogen in the decarbonisation of the economy.
  • Information on industrial processes, applications and uses of green hydrogen and its impact (risk/benefit balance).
  • Definition of frames (interpretation frameworks) to form the discussion between the parties involved.
  • Mitigation of NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard) and BANANA (Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anything) effects by promoting dialogue and minimising conflict to save time and capital investments.
  • Identification of disinformation and contrast of fake news.

Scope of application

  • Fuel cell manufacturers and users
  • Sectors that use H2 as a fuel directly
  • H2 storage tank manufacturers and users
  • Sectors that use H2 as feedstock where the thermal-fluid-dynamic behaviour is key.
