H2CAT participates in Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe 2025 with a booth and networking event

The H2CAT network took part in Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe 2025, one of Europe’s leading trade fairs in the fields of hydrogen and CO₂ capture, held in Hamburg (Germany). H2CAT hosted its own booth, showcasing the potential of the Catalan R&D&I ecosystem in renewable hydrogen to major companies, technology centres, and European institutions in the sector.

The participation provided international visibility for the network’s technological capabilities and helped establish new contacts and collaborations with strategic actors from across Europe.

On 22 October, H2CAT organised the side event “Discover the Catalan Hydrogen Innovation Ecosystem”, with the support of ACCIÓ’s office in Germany. The session brought together representatives from various German regional ecosystems, Catalan companies, and researchers from the network, who presented some of the most innovative hydrogen projects:

  • Attila Husar (UPC – Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya)
  • Juande Sirvent (IREC – Institut de Recerca en Energia de Catalunya)
  • Luis Guillermo Guerling (ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences)
  • Diogo Garcia (Eurecat)
  • Nil Solà (URV – Universitat Rovira i Virgili)
  • David Monreal (ICIQ – Institut Català d’Investigació Química)

The event was an excellent opportunity for networking, knowledge exchange, and the development of new international collaborations in the field of renewable hydrogen and industrial decarbonisation.
