International Networking Meeting with Representatives of the Hydrogen Ecosystem in Saxony

The H2CAT network participated in an international meeting with a delegation of experts and companies from Saxony’s (Germany) hydrogen sector. The event, organized by ACCIÓ in collaboration with Saxony Trade & Invest, provided an opportunity to establish new connections and explore synergies in the development of green hydrogen technologies.

On the Catalan side, researchers from the H2CAT network took part, including Javier Sánchez (UB), Alberto Ruiz (Eurecat), David Monreal and Felipe Garcés (ICIQ), Pau Bosch (Leitat), and Èric Navarrete (Nanochronia and URV). The Efficient Energy Cluster of Catalonia and Idiada, entities affiliated with the network, were also present.

The German delegation included representatives from the HZwo European Cluster for Hydrogen Technologies, the HIC National Hydrogen Innovation Center, the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems (IKTS), Technische Universität Dresden, Chemnitz University of Technology, and several companies such as CAC Engineering GmbH, Auerhammer Metallwerk GmbH, CSA-CAD GmbH & Co., and CONOSCOPE GmbH.

The event was structured in two parts. First, institutional presentations were held, where participating entities showcased their strategic projects and research initiatives. The H2CAT network presented a selection of innovative technologies relevant to the Saxony representatives. In the second part, bilateral (B2B) meetings took place between attendees to identify collaboration opportunities and establish potential joint initiatives.

This meeting served as a valuable platform to strengthen cooperation between Catalonia and Saxony in the field of hydrogen, a key sector for energy transition and sustainability.
