PEM technology development and testing laboratory
Entity:
The technological capabilities of the laboratory consist of development and manufacturing of electrolyser and fuel cell components (catalysts, membranes, MEA, bipolar plates, prototype). In addition, all of the above materials can be characterised by on-site or off-site electrochemical techniques using state-of-the-art equipment. We have a fuel cell test bench, which enables us to monitor and measure (a) hydrogen and air flows, (b) pressures, (c) fuel cell/gas supply temperature, (d) gas supply relative humidity, and (e) the voltage, current and power. The evaluation and performance characterisation of a PEM fuel cell reaching 10 and 300W, including 2.5kW in case of a stack, and of a PEM electrolyser at 10W and 100W including long duration tests.
Challenges met
- The development of PEM technology components that reduce the cost of implementation.
- Eurecat has a PEM technology testing laboratory for fuel cells and electrolysers.
Scope of application
Development and implementation of electrolysers and fuel cells.
