Spectroscopic studies of photocatalytic and electrocatalytic reactions
Entity:
Time-resolved spectroscopic analysis of charge transfer processes occurring during photo- or electrocatalysis. Observations by time-resolved absorption spectroscopy on the scale of nanoseconds to seconds facilitate the identification of the causes of the loss of efficiency of catalytic systems. The available equipment allows sizing under operating conditions.
Challenges met
Catalytic systems that are not very efficient.
Scope of application
Chemical industry – identification of processes that detract from the efficiency of photo- and electrocatalytic systems.
