Non-platinum-group catalysts for water electrolysis

Our “Co-del” solution is based on non-platinum-group anode catalysts for Proton Exchange Membrane Water Electrolysis (PEMWE), delivering industry relevant performance and operational stability under the strong acidic conditions at high current density (>1 A/cm2). Our patent protected solution delivers iridium-comparable performance through materials that are scalable (at least 1000x more abundant) and cost-effective (at least 7000x cheaper).
Challenges met
- Ir is scarce and highly geolocalised.
- Ir cost has increased 10x in the last decade (160 k€/kg currently).
- Other PEMWE improvements focus on optimizing catalyst loading or using still scarce (Ru) or lower performing (manganese) alternatives.
