Application of solar cells as a source of electricity in electrocatalytic reactions

Entity:

Manufacture of solar cells that convert sunlight into electricity, which can be used as an energy source to activate electrocatalysts. Cell structures and interconnections are tailored to the catalyst’s voltage and current requirements. In this way, cells based on perovskite are used alone (single junction) or joined to other perovskite cells, or cells based on organic materials in tandem formation (multijunction). Finally, the dimensions can be adapted to integrate the devices into the catalytic reactors.

  • Electricity generation from sunlight to activate electrocatalysis in a zero-emission process.
