CFD simulation, thermal and chemical kinetics of volumetric reactions

Entity:

CFD, thermal and coupled chemical kinetics simulation performed with the commercial software Ansys, of different volumetric chemical reactions, whether thermochemical or combustion (among others). It allows results of the thermal, fluid-dynamic and chemical behaviour of the system to be obtained and, therefore, to establish the efficiency of the reaction. It can be applied to both laboratory-scale systems and industrial-scale reactors.  

Expertise in the simulation of combustion reactors and synthetic methane generation is available 

Challenges met

  • It allows a virtual reproduction of the reactor to be obtained and to predict its fluid dynamic, thermal and chemical behaviour.  
  • It provides support for reactor design tasks. 

Scope of application

Industry in general – any industry that has reactors where chemical reactions take place (combustion systems, gasification, pyrolysis, etc.)
