Water treatments for electrolysis

Entity:

The quality of water required for electrolysis processes in hydrogen production is extremely high. New advances in membrane separation and advanced oxidation technologies make it possible to remove salts and contaminants from almost any water source. The present service consists of the development of processes for the purification of alternative water sources from advanced separation and advanced oxidation technologies. Alternative water sources include seawater, urban and industrial wastewater, untreated surface water, etc.

Challenges met

  • Ensuring the availability of water for the electrolysis process
  • Decreasing the environmental impact of the H2 production process

Scope of application

  • Hydrogen production by electrolysis
  • Water treatment
