Valves and systems for the use of H2 at high pressure

Entity:

The need to increase pressures in H2 storage above 700 bar gives rise to problems with the commonly used valve system (a mechanical element that controls gas flow), generating load losses due to the deformations caused and unable to achieve a minimum service life.

To address this, a prototype test bench is being designed to validate operation. It encompasses all the protocols necessary to meet safety standards, and uses valves for hydrogen capable of working in conditions above 700 bar pressure without any leakage.

Challenges met

  • Improving the H2 supply and storage system using a test bench to test valves under extreme operating conditions (P>700 bar).

Scope of application

Any sector that wants to test high pressure valves to work with H2.
